I painted the incoming storm while watching the dolphins leap in the shallows during our visit to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina last year. A new theme and inspiration for my large black, grey and white abstracts coming up soon.
Following my degree in Art & Design I moved to London to complete my Masters at the Royal College of Art and began lecturing at art colleges in London and the South East before settling to lecture at Winchester College of Art for eight years. My personal work developed through my own design consultancy as well as working in partnerships with other designers, selling fashion and textiles work across Europe and Asia to couture design houses. With marriage and family life I moved into marketing and promotional work in arts with the Arts Council and later became marketing director for a University.
I have now found the time to return to my personal development as an artist with a studio at home in Gascony painting rich colourful abstracts, full of texture and movement, clearly influenced by the rural country textures of Gascony and the rugged mountains of the Pyrennees. My paintings also echo the drama of sea and sky from Sardinia and the Atlantic coast South Carolina. My present output is predominantly created using acrylic paints with additives of mixed media produced on canvas and paper.
I have been fortunate to exhibit and sell work in London, Europe, India and the USA.
